**PLEASE NOTE: WE ARE ONCE AGAIN ACCEPTING FOOD DONATIONS, BUT WE ARE UNABLE TO ACCEPT FOOD ITEMS THAT ARE PAST THEIR EXPIRY DATE.
Here are some tips that will ensure your donation will do the most good.
- Canned, tinned and dried foods with a long use-by date are most valued. Canned meat, tuna, and salmon are particularly appreciated.
- People don’t always have can openers, so cans with pull-tabs are very handy.
- Snacks and lunch items for kids are greatly appreciated.
- Fruits and Vegetables are important in everyone’s diet, but we currently don’t have the facility to store fresh food beyond our pick-up days. If you would like to donate fresh food, or any other food donations, please bring it to the food bank Thursday from 3:00 – 4:00 pm or Friday from 9:00-10:00 am.
- We have limited space to accept donations of frozen items.
- Other basic products such as cereal, coffee, tea and toiletries (soap, detergent, toilet paper, etc.) are also needed.
- Personal hygiene products – deodorant, shaving cream, razors, feminine hygiene products are always needed.
- We are only able to distribute individual portions. Bulk items are not allowed to be broken down and distributed unless each item is labelled with ingredients, nutritional information, and cooking/baking instructions.
- Good quality boxes and reusable bags come in very handy
- Pet food is appreciated as well.
