{"id":179,"date":"2016-04-25T16:23:46","date_gmt":"2016-04-25T20:23:46","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/westmuskokafoodbank.org\/?p=179"},"modified":"2016-04-25T16:23:46","modified_gmt":"2016-04-25T20:23:46","slug":"approval-of-charitable-tax-status-with-cra","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/westmuskokafoodbank.org\/2016\/04\/25\/approval-of-charitable-tax-status-with-cra\/","title":{"rendered":"Approval of charitable Tax Status with CRA"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>At the AGM held last week it was announced that our charitable status had been verbally approved and we were just waiting for the official documentation. \u00a0Today we received it and are now known as 79793 4890 RR0001 by CRA. \u00a0We now have the privilege of issuing tax receipts directly through the food bank. \u00a0This has been a 10 month journey that has been brought to fruition at last through the skilful guidance of our lawyer Nathalie Tinti at Barriston Law in Bracebridge. \u00a0We thank her and her staff for their diligence in helping us to achieve this.<\/p>\n<p>The annual meeting approved our first budget and appointed our accountant, Richard Onley C.A. of Bracebridge. \u00a0We also officially elected our first Board of Directors for a 1 year term of office. \u00a0This completes the legalities of incorporation, and being recognized as a charitable business. \u00a0We can now focus on dreams for the future and providing additional services to our community. \u00a0We look forward to 2016 as a year of consolidation and growth.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>At the AGM held last week it was announced that our charitable status had been verbally approved and we were just waiting for the official documentation.
