The Food Bank is proud to announce that, in conjunction with the YWCA, we will be sponsoring a “Getting Ahead in a Just-gettin’ by World” program, starting in February, 2016 in Bala.<\/strong> \u00a0This is an exciting program designed to give under-resourced people an opportunity to explore their strengths and weaknesses, and then encourage them to dream about what they would like their future to look like. \u00a0Through the help of an experienced facilitator they will be encouraged to find their own answers as to how to get there. \u00a0They will identify their needs and be given tools to help them meet those objectives.<\/p>\n

They will meet one morning a week for 15 weeks and be rewarded with a free lunch and a $20.00 food voucher. \u00a0They will meet at Trinity-St. Albans Anglican Church in Bala, likely on Wednesday mornings. \u00a0This will be a great opportunity for socializing as well as learning valuable information that can assist folks towards their future goals. \u00a0This program has been very successful when run, first in the USA, then in Lambton County in Ontario, and now in Huntsville, Bracebridge, and Gravenhurst. \u00a0We are excited to be able to bring this to Bala.<\/p>\n
